Suzanne was a faculty member at DSS from 1982 to 1985. She recently sent in this update: In 1987, I was admitted to Yale University, School of Drama, received an MFA in Theatre Design, 1990; and worked free lance as a costume and scenic designer in theatre and film, across and around the country until 1994. Then I was hired as an Assistant Professor/ Scenographer at Saint Mary's College of Maryland. I have been a Professor of Painting at Savannah College of Art and Design, since 1996. I love teaching here with the same kind of energy and relentless vigor that sustained us at Desert Sun. I do miss rock climbiing/ boldering, manzanitas, California's wild open environments. My son Rafiki Smith, '89 appeared as one of the three groomsmen in the film "Forces of Nature" and lives in New York City. My new painting website is www.suzannefjackson.com.
